M24L bayonet with correct scabbard. No finish on pommel. Blade is sharpened but not ground. Blade tip is blunted (see pic). Bayonet is unmarked except for the serial number on the butt of the pommel. Scabbard ball tip is marked with the Lithuanian "gate" mark. Usually mistaken for a Czech VZ23 it is an exact copy made by FN in Belgium for Lithuanian contract. The scabbard differs from the Czech design in having an Imperial German S84/98 style frogstud and throatpiece. Only 30,000 were made and were captured by the Soviets when they annexed Lithuiania. the Germans captured them from the Soviets and issued them for their own use but usually cut of the muzzle rings just like captured Czech bayonets.
